A    BRIEF    HISTORY:

 

          Tomas delToro-Diaz is a Santa Barbara based recording engineer and producer currently affiliated with Santa Barbara Sound Design. Specializing in all facets of music production and recording, audio books, and ADR, he has worked with such artists as Depeche Mode, Rascal Flatts, Robert Cray, Charles Llyod, Lee Ritenour, The Jacksons, Alan Parsons, Aleks Syntek, John McEuen, Steve Jordan, Kenny Loggins, Josh Groban, Errol Brown, and Rebelution. 

          His experience in voice over and audio books includes working with artists such as Carol Burnett (Grammy nomination), T. C. Boyle, Simon Tolkein, Rob Lowe, John Cleese, Kevin Costner, Jack Johnson, Bob Greene, and Fannie Flagg.

          With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he studied under Nick Collins, Dr. Julia Miller, John Corbett, Douglas Ewart, and Robert Synder in the sound department.

          In addition, he holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College.  There he studied under Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, Pauline Oliveros, Zeena Parkins, Gino Robair, John Bischoff, Chris Brown, and Maggie Payne.
